Congratulations on our members who completed the Basic Pool 101 Course given by John Taylor with the Texas Pool School. This was a free clinic offered to the LoneStar Pool League members. John conducted a 2 1/2 hour class with verbal, visual, and time on the table with some players of all calibers and everyone walked away with some new skills. The LoneStar Pool league also thanks John for his time and effort to share his knowledge with our players.

May 10th, 2005 News Letter: Division 1, Division 3, & Division 4
We're back from the ACS Nationals which took place in Reno, Nevada. I trust all of our players and teams that participated had a wonderful and rewarding experience. It was good to see the LoneStar Pool League representation at this National Event.
Again, congratulations on the completion of your season! It was a pretty close race for the majority of teams. I certainly hope you had a great time in competing within the LoneStar Pool League system of play and I look forward to your return to the next season. The new season will commence on May 26th, 2005 and the awards celebration will be held at B.B. Wolf's Sports Bar on Sunday May 29th, 2005 starting a 12:00PM (Noon) with food, 1:00PM the distribution of awards & trophies, and at 2:00PM a tournament. Divisions 1 and 3 will also be invited to participate in our celebration & tournament along with new teams signing up. This is going to be a fun event so please come on out and join in the celebration!
Note: A few teams from Divisions 1 & 3 have been moved to Division 4 in order to make a larger division. We are attempting to eventually have some parity between divisions based on performance, an example would be an A performance division and a B performance division, etc. This will take a few seasons, so please help us by playing your best within our handicap system. In other words, help your pool league by not sand bagging but by playing your very best.
The LoneStar Pool League is a sanctioned league with the ACS and our program is designed for fun and entertainment for pool players of all levels to compete in an organized forum by the use of a well structured handicap system. Our league is a league that enables players and teams to compete in National, State, & Local events. So you want to go to the Nationals in 2006, the LoneStar Pool League is certainly a vehicle so that you can do just that! I will explain how the LoneStar Pool League can help you to attain your goals for the Nationals. See you at the awards party! Regard, Don Wright From: Don Wright I am in receipt of our ACS membership cards, patches, and pins and will begin the distribution process to all of our players at the beginning of next week. If you or your team is interested in playing nine ball, please call the office. 713 464 3864 July 26, 2004 The LoneStar Pool League is starting a 9-Ball Division which will be on Sundays. Start time for Sunday's matches will be at 06:00PM with the normal grace period as defined in the players manual. The 9-Ball teams will consist of 4 player teams, each player playing the other team members 3 games each back to back. The total number of games per player is 12. (48 games per team) The time frame is about the same as the 8-Ball division matches. The LoneStar Pool League has had several nine ball divisions in the past and they have been well received and very successful. You might want to check out the handicap system because it is based on games won and lost. Remember that your LoneStar membership fee is for a one year period and entitles you to participate in all divisions, which also includes of course the 9-Ball divisions. The weekly playing fee is $10.00 per player per week of play. The awards program is the same as the 8-ball awards program. The start date is August 22nd, 2004, so please turn in your player and team sign-ups as soon as possible so that I can enter your team in to the playing roster. To sign-up on line, please see : http://www.lonestarpool.com/player_signup.aspx Should you require more information, please contact the office at 713 464 3864. Regards, Don Wright July 19, 2004 Dear Members and Friends, As we are now up and running with our new website look, it’s time to bring you up to date on “What’s going on in the LoneStar Pool League”. At this time there are 3 divisions that are currently competing. Division 1 (Monday Nights), Division 3 (Wednesday Nights), and Division 4 (Thursday Nights). To give you an overview of the scheduling, please see the following chart.
The LoneStar Pool League would like to recognize Sierra Koenig and Ron Alford in their efforts in helping establish Division 1. Thank You! Sierra and Ron have worked very diligently in bringing players and sponsors together to make this division a success, so you players, when you see them, please tell them thanks for all of their hard work and continued efforts. Ron Alford is also working on our 9-Ball Division which will play on Sundays, so you if you are interested in joining a 9-Ball team, please contact the office or fill out the player sign up sheet online: http://www.lonestarpool.com/player_signup.aspx and we will find a team for you to play on. If you have a complete team that wants to play, you may also use the same sign up form. The start date for this division is not yet set however it appears that it will be in the very near future. At this time we have 8 teams that are ready to go however we would like to have at least 12 teams to start. Please check out our 9 ball handicap system as each team will be comprised of 4 players. You may also have sub players on your teams for those nights when needed. Your ACS membership cards and players packets will be forthcoming shortly. I will let you know when I receive them and upon receipt, will distribute your packets. Please feel free to call the office with your questions or comments, we are here to help and promote the sport of pool. Regards, Don Wright July 14, 2004 As you probably noticed, I have changed the format for the Divisions to coincide with the day of the week: See: http://www.lonestarpool.com/divisions/default.aspx
